Gauhati High Court is going to release the admit card of the Written Examination for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Computer Assistant posts in the Principal seat of Gauhati High Court on 20th April 2026. Exam Pattern of MTS Posts in High Court


The selection process of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts consists of two stages - Written Examination and Viva-Voce.

The written examination consists of OMR-based objective questions with total marks of 70. The duration of the exam is 1½ hours. The question paper covers General Knowledge/Current Affairs, General English, General Mathematics of Class VIII standard, and Assamese language proficiency (20 marks).

The Assamese language segment is qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks (8 out of 20) in this section to qualify the written examination. Marks obtained in the Assamese language segment will not be considered while preparing the merit list.

Final selection will be made on the basis of score obtained both in written examination and Viva-Voce.

Exam Pattern of Computer Assistant Posts


The selection process of Computer Assistant posts consists of three stages - Written Examination, Skill Test and Viva-Voce.

The written examination for Computer Assistant is of 120 marks with exam duration of 2 hours. The exam tests technical knowledge (50 marks), English proficiency (20 marks), general knowledge (20 marks), aptitude and reasoning (10 marks), and Assamese language proficiency (20 marks).

The Assamese language segment is qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks (8 out of 20) in this section to qualify the written examination. Marks obtained in the Assamese language segment will not be considered while preparing the merit list.

There shall be negative marking in the written exam with deduction .25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Skill test is of 30 marks whereas Viva-voce is of 20 marks.
