Accordingly, Gauhati University has launched its online Post Graduation (PG) admission form fill up portal where aspiring and eligible candidates will be able to fill and submit online application form for various Post Graduate Programmes including Post Graduate courses in Arts (MA), Science (MSc) and Commerce (MCom).

Educational Qualification: Candidates must be a Graduate with minimum of 24 Credits in respective subject with Major / Honours or with Regular Course. For Specific Eligibility Criteria for Interdisciplinary programmes, candidates may check this link, here .
Besides this above, it is to be noted that-
(i) Candidates who appeared/appearing in the 6th Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Voc Examinations, 2025 and are waiting for their results are eligible to appear in the PGET-2025 and get provisional admission if selected. However, the candidates must submit the Final Gradesheet /Marksheet within 7 days of the result being declared. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.
(ii) Candidates appeared/appearing in the 6th Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Voc Examinations, 2025 and waiting for their results but have backlog in earlier Semester(s) are also eligible to appear in the PGET-2025 and get provisional admission if selected. However, the candidates must have to submit the Final Gradesheet /Marksheet within 7 days of the result being declared. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.

PGET Score: All candidates must appear in the PGET-2025 to get admitted to any postgraduate programmes at Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges.
Application Fee of GU PG Admission
# If an applicant applies for one PG programme, the entrance examination fee will be Rs. 800/-; for two programmes, the entrance examination fee will be Rs. 1600/-; and for three PG programmes, the entrance examination fee will be Rs. 2400/-.
# Application fees can only be paid online (by debit card, credit card, or internet banking). The link to the payment gateway will be provided in the online application portal.

GU PG Entrance Test
There will be an Entrance Test for admission into different Post Graduate Courses to be conducted by Gauhati University (both for the University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges of the University) for the session 2025-2026. Admissions will be based strictly on the performance and eligibility criteria of the Entrance Examination.
An applicant can appear in the Gauhati University Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET-2025) in a maximum of 3 (three) subjects. They can choose only ONE subject from Traditional Programmes and TWO subjects from Interdisciplinary Programmes.
