North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong has release the official notification for admission into B.Sc and M.Sc nursing courses of academic session 2020. Interested candidates may apply from 18th June 2020 to 17th July 2020 (Before 5:00 p.m) .
NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission 2020
NEIGRIHMS, Shillong offers two courses in nursing:
1. B.Sc. Nursing
No of seats: 50 seats per annum
Duration: Four years including six months Internship Programmes.
Affiliation: The Course is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong.
2. M.Sc. Nursing
No of seats: 10 seats per annum
Duration: Two (2) years course including six months Internship Programmes.
Affiliation: The Course is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong.
NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria
B.Sc. Nursing
i) Should have passed 10+2 Examination with Science Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and English Core / English Elective from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent board.
ii) Should secure an aggregate of 45% or more marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English.
iii) Should have completed the minimum age of 17 years as on or before 31st December 2020 and not exceeding the maximum age of 25 years as on 31st December 2020.
iv) Candidates found guilty of misconduct or convicted for any offence shall not be eligible for admission.
v) Candidate should be medically fit.
vi) Candidate should be a citizen of India
M.Sc. Nursing
a. Candidates should have the minimum qualification of B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing/ Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing from an Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks.
b. Candidates should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Council.
c. B.Sc. Nursing graduates should have at least one year of experience in a Hospital or in a College or School of Nursing or in Community Health setting/ programme after registration in the State Nursing Council.
d. Candidates should submit their experience certificate along with their application form.
e. Bonafide students of College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS (irrespective of domicile state) are eligible for admission to the seats reserved for students passing B.Sc. Nursing from College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS.
f. Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing should have at least a minimum of one year work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
g. Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. (N) degree through distance education (IGNOU) may be considered only if the study centre is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
h. Internal candidates from NEIGRIHMS should be registered with the Meghalaya State Nursing Council.
i. Male candidates who did not opt for Midwifery in the B.Sc. Nursing course should have qualified in any other subjects as recommended by the Indian Nursing Councilin lieu of Midwifery. Only those candidates who have studied Midwifery are eligible
for admission to Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing and Community Health Nursing speciality.
j. Candidates shall be medically fit.
k. In service candidates should obtain ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer.
NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission 2020 Application Fee
Application fee is Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand) Only (inclusive of Bank Charges).
Candidates after downloading Application Form from the Institute’s website (www.neigrihms.gov.in) may deposit the fee through NEFT from any Nationalized Bank in the Institute’s account by filling up the following details:

NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission 2020 Application Form
Prospectus cum Application Form will be available in NEIGRIHMS website at www.neigrihms.gov.in w.e.f. 18th June, 2020 to 17th July, 2020.
a. Duly filled up application forms can be dropped in at the Box placed outside the Examination Cell, Director’s Block, NEIGRIHMS on or before 17th July, 2020 before 5:00 PM addressed to “Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS, Director’s Block, P.O. – Mawdiangdiang, Shillong – 793018”.
b. Forms can also be sent by post addressed to “Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS, Director’s Block, P.O. – Mawdiangdiang, Shillong – 793018” and should reach by 17th July, 2020 before 5:00 PM.
NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission 2020 Admit
B.Sc.
i) Admit Card to the eligible candidates for appearing in the Entrance Examination will be sent by Speed Post to the address provided in the Application form from 10th August, 2020 onwards.
ii) In case of non receipt of Admit Cards candidates can collect the Duplicate Admit Cards from Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS from 7th September 2020 to 12th September 2020.
M.Sc.
i) Admit Card to the eligible candidates for appearing in the NEIGRIHMS Nursing Entrance Examination will be sent by Speed Post to the address provided in the Application form from 10th August, 2020 onwards.
ii) In case of non receipt of Admit Cards candidates can collect the Duplicate Admit Cards from Examination Cell, NEIGRIHMS from 7th September 2020 to 11th September 2020.
NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission Entrance Test Centre
The Written Entrance Examination for admission to the B. Sc. Nursing Course will be conducted in Shillong only.
NEIGRIHMS Nursing Admission Entrance Test Result 2020
The selection of candidates will be made strictly in order of merit of the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Entrance Examination
i) Result of the Entrance Test in Order of Merit will be declared within 6 days of completion of the Written Entrance Examination and will be displayed on the Institute’s Notice Board, Director’s Block and College of Nursing Notice Board,
NEIGRIHMS, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong – 793018, Meghalaya. The Result will also be made available in the Institute’s website at http://www.neigrihms.gov.in. No correspondence regarding results will be issued to individual candidate.
ii) Candidates will be called for counseling for admission in order of merit from the published result of the Entrance Examination. List of candidates called for counseling will be made available in the Institute’s website at http://www.neigrihms.gov.in.
iii) Candidates called for counseling will have to attend a Medical Examination at the Institute on the same day of counseling.
iv) Candidates selected after counseling and Medical Examination shall have to pay the Admission fee/dues, etc. on the same day and get themselves admitted to the course, failing which his/her selection shall be treated as cancelled and seat will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list in order of merit.
vi) Selected candidates who have been admitted but failed to join the course within a week after the commencement of the academic session shall automatically stand to forfeit their seat and no correspondence shall be entertained.
