NCET ITEP 2026
National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification of National Common Entrance Test [NCET] 2026. This year NCET 2026 will be conducted on 17th April 2026 (Friday). This article will guide all aspirants to know all details of NCET.
National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Qualifying in NCET is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected Central/ State Universities/ Institutions including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the Academic Session 2026-2027.
As per National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, "The 4-year integrated B.Ed. will be a dual-major holistic bachelor’s degree, in Education as well as a specialized subject (such as language, history, music, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, economics, art, physical-education, etc.). Beyond the teaching of cutting-edge pedagogy, the teacher education will include a grounding in sociology, history, science, psychology, early childhood care and education, foundational literacy and numeracy, knowledge of India and its values/ethos/art/traditions, and more."

Eligibility Criteria of NCET Exam
Age Limit: For appearing in the NCET 2026, there is no age limit for the candidates. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Government College to which they are desirous of taking admission.
Educational Qualification: The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2026 irrespective of their age can appear in the NCET 2026 examination.
