Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025
Pragyan Bharati Scheme, an Government of Assam scheme was launched in 2020 under which meritorious girls students who passed Higher Secondary (HS) final examination with 1st Division receive electric or petrol based scooty.
However from this year, i.e. 2025, under this scheme, the government will provide scooters to all students who obtain 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Final Examination, 2025 conducted by Assam State School Education Board .

Objectives of Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme
The main objective of Distribution of Scooters are as follows:
a. To foster a sense of competitiveness and encourage students to perform better in their studies.
b. To motivate students to pursue Higher Education.
c. For better mobility of the students for facilitating easy access to higher education.
d. Enhancement of Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in the state of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria of Pragyan Bharati Scheme
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria to receive scooty under Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025:
Resident-ship: Students have to be residents of the State of Assam.
Qualifying Exam: The students must obtain 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Final Examination, 2025 conducted by Assam State School Education Board.
Other Criteria:
# Students in the betterment and reappearance category are not eligible for the scheme.
# Students admitted in institutions outside the State are also eligible provided they have a valid
PRC of Assam.
How to Apply for Pragyan Bharati Scheme ?
# During initial days, i.e., in 2020, there was a dedicated online portal to apply for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme.
# However, now a days, scooty merit lists are prepared based on the data fetched from the end of the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). Data provided by ASSEB consists of all exam related information of respective students. The eligible students will fill up an online application form. The link to the online application form will be published by Director of Higher Education in the official website of DHE.
# The detailed process of online application form will be updated in due course of time.

Directorate of Higher Education, Assam had released the lists of eligible students for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme as on 11th May 2025. The Assam Scooty Merit List 2025 can be checked from following table.

Distribution Process of Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025
The process of distribution of scooties under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025 is as mentioned below:
a. The list of students with 80% and above marks will be collected from Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
b. The list of beneficiaries will be uploaded in https://directorateofhighereducation.assam.gov.in/
c. The eligible students will fill up an online application form. The link to the online application form will be published by Director of Higher Education in the official website of DHE as mentioned at Para “b” above.
d. The Director of Higher Education will notify a list of Nodal Principals for smooth distribution of scooters to eligible beneficiaries.
e. The Nodal Principals will be responsible for collecting the Appreciation Certificates from DHE.
f. The eligible students will collect Appreciation Certificates from Nodal Principal concerned and submit the same to the allotted dealer.
g. The Government will provide the amount for Scooter Registration and Insurance to the Nodal
principals. After properly verifying the beneficiary details, the Nodal principals will release the money to the concerned dealer without delay.
h. The students will collect the scooters from the dealers concerned.The students will not pay any money to the dealers for cost of registration and insurance.
i. The helmet will be provided free of cost to the beneficiary student along with the Scooter. Government will not pay for any accessories.
j. In case of a student’s untimely demise, the legal guardian may/ may not choose to collect the scooter.
k. The beneficiaries of the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati scheme shall not be eligible for the Nijut Moina Scheme. However, if any Girl beneficiary opts out of the Banikanta Kakati Award, she can apply for the Nijut Moina Scheme.
