Accordingly, Gauhati University has launched its online Post Graduation (PG) admission form fill up portal where aspiring and eligible candidates will be able to fill online application form for Post Graduate courses in Arts (MA), Science (MSc) and Commerce (MCom).

Educational Qualification: Candidates must be a Graduate with minimum of 24 Credits in respective subject with Major / Honours or with Regular Course. For Specific Eligibility Criteria for Interdisciplinary programmes, candidates may check this link, here .
Besides this above, it is to be noted that-
(i) Candidates who appeared/appearing in the 6th Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Voc Examinations, 2024 and are waiting for their results are eligible to appear in the PGET-2024 and get provisional admission if selected. However, the candidates must submit the Final Gradesheet /Marksheet within 7 days of the result being declared. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.
(ii) Candidates appeared/appearing in the 6th Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Voc Examinations, 2024 and waiting for their results but have backlog in earlier Semester(s) are also eligible to appear in the PGET-2024 and get provisional admission if selected. However, the candidates must have to submit the Final Gradesheet /Marksheet within 7 days of the result being declared. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.

PGET Score: All candidates must appear in the PGET-2024 to get admitted to any postgraduate programmes at Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges.
Application Fee of GU PG Admission
# If an applicant applies for one PG programme, the application fee will be Rs. 1000/-; for two programmes, the application fee will be Rs. 1500/-; and for three PG programmes, the application fee will be Rs. 2000/-.

How to Apply for Gauhati University Admission ?
The admission process to various PG Courses under Gauhati University will be done through online mode. Online application process will be started from 15th June 2024. To submit an online application, pl follow the below mentioned steps.
Any prospective student who wants to apply to Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges for admission into any postgraduate course MUST first register with the Department of Higher Education (DHE), Assam and obtain the DHE Unique ID.
Once you obtain the DUI, please come back and continue filling up of GU admission form. Without this DUI, you will NOT be able to submit GU Admission Form.

Step 4: Make the payment of Application Fee as per your course .

GU PG Entrance Test
There will be an Entrance Test for admission into different Post Graduate Courses to be conducted by Gauhati University (both for the University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges of the University) for the session 2024-2025. Admissions will be based strictly on the performance and eligibility criteria of the Entrance Examination.

Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
No of questions: 100
Negative marking: For each wrong answer, a 0.25 mark will be deducted.
Duration of exam: 2 Hours.
Entrance schedule:
A student can opt for appearing in the entrance examination for a maximum of three subjects (one traditional and two interdisciplinary). However, applicants should refer to the overlap of examination dates for two subjects, if any, where they would like to appear in through PGET, so that both the subjects do not overlap in the same session.
