HSLC and HS Examination Likely to be Held from July 15 to July 20

Addressing to media, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the Assam HSLC and HS examinations are likely to be conducted from July 15 to July 20, 2021.

The CM, however, reiterated that the exams would be held only if the Covid-19 positivity rate in the state stands below 2 percent by July 1.

If the positivity rate remains above 2 percent, the government will not risk the lives of students, thus, we will cancel the examination and consider school evaluation,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He further added, “The examination dates might be scheduled for one day or maximum up to two days. All the protocols of the COVID-19 shall be maintained at the centres. However, an assessment of the COVID situation will be done on July 1. Following this, the final decision will be taken by the education department.

Replying to reporter’s queries about the exams amid COVID-19 situation, Sarma further said that one may score 100 per cent as the questions will be totally objective and straight.

The question papers will be objective and very much straight. Someone can even score 100 marks,” Sarma said.

The chief minister added that the government has considered the recommendations of various students’ groups and asked the students to keep preparing for the exams.
