Eligibility Criteria
State Domicile:
The Candidate should select the appropriate State/UT against which he/she is seeking admission. As a proof of eligibility of State/UT for admission, the candidate has to compulsorily produce any one of the following documents:
(i) Evidence of having passed the qualifying examination from the State/UT as given in the advertisement and published in the CEE-2026 Website.
(ii) In case of legal guardian / guardian/ parents is an employee of State/ Central Govt. / Govt. of India undertaking / Autonomous Bodies, the latest certificate of place of posting of the legal guardian/guardian/ parents in the State/UT.
(iii) A domicile certificate/nativity certificate/residence certificate from the competent authority of the concerned State/UT.

Educational Qualification: The eligibility criteria for 2 year regular B.Ed. Course at NERIE, Umiam is as mentioned below.
a) Candidates with at least 50% marks in either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or in any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).
b) Candidates who have secured less than 50% marks in their graduation (with a relaxation of 5% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) but are eligible based on their Master’s degree marks, must submit/enter their graduation marks in the online application form. The graduation aggregate marks (all subjects) will be considered for calculating the 40% weightage.
About NERIE 2 Year B.Ed Course
North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE) is one of the five Regional Institutes of NCERT and has the mandate to provide academic and technical support on policies and programmes of all aspects of School Education to the Governments of eifgt north eastern states namely, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. NERIE is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. It is offering two year B.Ed course from August 2016 for the students from the North East Region. The course is a fulltime, regular course and approved by NCTE NCTE. The course has already been offered by other RIE's for the past several years and it was well established and well received across the country.
The programme is designed to give students a well-rounded education by combining subject knowledge, understanding of human development, teaching methods (pedagogy), use of technology, communication skills, and practical school experiences. Its main goal is to prepare high-quality secondary school teachers in subjects like Science, Mathematics, Languages, and Social Sciences.
Students in the programme can choose one of two specializations: Science & Mathematics; and Social Science & Languages. Based on their choice, they are trained to become effective teachers in those subject areas. Overall, the programme ensures that students gain strong knowledge of their subjects, along with the skills needed to teach them effectively using modern methods and technology.
Admissions to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is done every year in the month of July/August. Candidates who are interested in this course have to undergo Common Entrance Examination(CEE) to get admission. The notification for CEE is published in the website in the month of March/April and eligible candidates can appear for the exam in the month of May/June.

Syllabus
The syllabus of CEE 2026 is as mentioned below.
1) Language Proficiency in English: Indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles.
2) Teaching Aptitude: Covering specific areas like attitude towards education, children, and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; digital initiatives and pedagogy, NEP 2020, and school education, NCF-SE-2023 and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education.
3) Reasoning Ability: Indicating specific areas like verbal & non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships.
