Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released the Assam NEET Merit List 2026 (provisional) for the admission into various Govt. medical and dental colleges for the academic session 2026-2027.
Candidates who appeared and passed successfully in NEET - UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2026 can now check and download Assam NEET Merit List 2026 for MBBS and BDS courses in the Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the session 2026-2027 under State quota seats.

All eligible candidates who have qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (U.G.)- 2026 (NEET-UG 2026) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses in the Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the session 2026-2027 under State quota seats can now check ASSAM NEET 2026 Merit List for MBBS & BDS Courses. The merit list will be available at Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam official website https://dme.assam.gov.in .
The 1st round counseling for selection of eligible candidates for admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses under state quota seats will be conducted by DME, Assam on the basis of this merit list only.

How to Apply for Assam NEET Counselling ?
Online Registration for the counselling for all candidates who have qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) - 2026 (NEET-UG 2026) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and are eligible under State quota seats of Assam will be started from 13th August 2026. Interested candidates may follow below mentioned steps.
- Visit the official website of Assam NEET Counselling at dme.assam.gov.in.
- Look for the link related to NEET UG 2026 Choice Filling and click on it.
- Enter your Application Number, Password, and Date of Birth to access your counselling account.
- Click on the Login button to proceed.
- In the choice-filling section, click the arrow next to the Institution of Preference box. A dropdown list containing the participating institutions will appear. Select the institution you prefer.
- Candidates must select at least one institution before locking their choices. If a candidate locks the form without selecting any preference, they will be treated as not participating in the counselling process.
- Carefully review all the choices entered in the form before proceeding. Once you click “Lock Preferences” and confirm the action, you will no longer be able to access or modify the online choice-filling form.

- Online registration for 1st round of Counselling: 13th to 15th August 2026, 11.55 PM
- Online filling of choice: 16th to 18th August 2026, 10 PM
- Online locking of choice: 18th August 2026, 5 PM to 11.55 PM
- Processing of Seat allotment: 19th to 21st August 2026
- Date of declaration of result: 22nd August 2026
