Gauhati High Court has released three (3) employment notifications for the recruitment of 40 posts of Stenographer Grade-II, Private Secretary (Stenographer Grade-I), Chauffeur (Driver), and Multi-Tasking Staff . These vacancies are available under the Principal Seat of the Gauhati High Court at Guwahati, district courts of Assam, and the Law Research Institute, Gauhati High Court, Guwahati.

Gauhati High Court Recruitment Details

1. Private Secretary (Stenographer Grade-I)

No of posts: 3 posts

Pay: PB-4, ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000 GP: ₹13,300

Age Limit:

OBC/ MOBC: 41 years
STP/ STH: 43 years
PWBD: 48 years

Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, preferably with a diploma in Stenography in English with minimum speed of 120 wpm in shorthand and 50 wpm on a computer. Due weightage is given to a law graduate.

2. Chauffeur (Driver)

No of posts: 1 post

Pay: PB-2, ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 GP: ₹5,200

Age Limit:

UR: 40 years
OBC/ MOBC: 43 years
SC/ ST: 45 years
PWBD: 50 years

Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess minimum educational qualification of Class X (HSLC) from a recognized Board and a valid LMV driving licence issued by competent authority.

3. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)

No of posts: 1 post

Pay: PB-1, ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 GP: ₹3,900

Age Limit:

UR: 40 years
OBC/ MOBC: 43 years
SC/ ST: 45 years
PWBD: 50 years

Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess minimum educational qualification of Class VIII (8th) standard and those who have passed HSSLC (Class 12) or above are ineligible.

4. Stenographer Grade-II

No of posts: 35 posts

Pay: PB-3, ₹22,000 – ₹97,000 GP: ₹9,700

Age Limit:

UR: 18 to 40 years
OBC/ MOBC: 18 to 43 years
SC/STP/ STH: 18 to 45 years
PWBD: 18 to 50 years

Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University. Candidates should also possess Diploma/ Certificate in Stenography/Shorthand from an ITI, Polytechnic or other recognized institute.

Other Criteria of Gauhati High Court Recruitment

Citizenship: Candidates must be a citizen of India as defined under Article 5 and 6 of the Constitution of India.

Employment Exchange Registration: Candidates must have a valid Employment Exchange Registration Number for the State of Assam.

Official Language Proficiency (Stenographer Grade-II): The candidate should have knowledge of the Official Language of the State of Assam (Assamese).
