IIT Guwahati Recruitment 2017 - JRF, Greenhouse Attendant

Applications are invited for a walk in interview to be held in the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Conference Room of the DBT Program Support Facility on 22 February 2017 at 3:00 PM onward for temporary positions of one JRF in a DBT funded project entitled “Functional validation of yield related genes in scented rice of Northeast India” (BSBESPNxDBT00391xxLS014), one JRF in a DBT funded project “Development of
Transgenic Chilli cv. Bhut Jolokia for resistance to viruses causing leaf curl disease using RNA Interference (RNAi)” (BSBESPNxDBT00391xxLS015), and one Greenhouse Attendant in a DBT funded Unit of Excellence project entitled “Development of abiotic stress resilient tropical pulses through tailoring of ABA receptor genes” (BSBESPNxDBT00391xxLS013).

Pay: 
JRF (GATE) : Rs 25,000/- + 20% HRA + Medical Facility
Greenhouse Attendant : Rs 6,000/- consolidated
 
Educational Qualification and Experience:
JRF: M.Sc/ M.Tech /B.Tech in Biotechnology/Life Sciences and allied disciplines. Candidates having knowledge of techniques of plant molecular biology / tissue culture will be given preference.
Greenhouse Attendant: HSLC with prior experience of hardening and maintaining plants in garden.

Appointment will be initially made for a period of 11 months and may be extended for upto a maximum of three (3) years for JRF and four year for Greenhouse Attendant based on performance.
 
Application and Selection Procedure: Candidates have to appear in the walk-in-interview in person along with an application/CV giving details of all educational qualifications, experience and submit photocopies of relevant documents at the time of interview. Selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview. Candidates will not be sent any interview call letter separately. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for appearing in the interview. Selection is not possible without appearing in the interview. An advance copy of CV may be sent by e-mail to Prof. L.
